Solid-State Drive固態硬碟算是四年來能對電腦效能大幅提升的新硬體
不管是DeskTop PC或是Notebook都能因加裝SSD讓系統處理時間縮短許多
這也是SSD推出那麼多年,市場依然熱門的主因,但價格比HDD高上許多也間接影響普及度

每年SSD價格幾乎都會碰到打對折,讓市場接受度也逐年提高,大都是以100或200美金為界限
由歷史價位來看,前年價位約200美金為60GB,去年則是120GB,而今年則是以240GB為主
今年同時也有不少100美金左右的120GB SSD,此價位讓更多消費者在可接受的預算內
從三年多前美國品牌CORSAIR便開始推出SSD產品線,稱得上是很早就進入此領域的品牌
控制晶片也從一開始SATA2搭載SAMSUNG,後來有SandForce與Marvell等主流產品線
看得出採用種類不同的控制晶片來為自家SSD產品線帶來更多不同效能與價位的市場選擇
本回入手的GS SSD為Force Series,此系列推出已久,先前已有Force 3與GT兩種版本
Force Series顧名思義就是使用SandForce控制晶片的SSD,搭配不同NAND Flash做變化
首先看到產品外包裝,將金色做為GS主要代表顏色之一

CrystalDiskMark預設測試為隨機測試,如右圖在寫入的數據會偏低
主要是因為SandForce控制晶片的架構特性,在隨機的演算方式會碰到偏低的狀況
左圖CrystalDiskMark測試改為兩種純粹循序模式,寫入表現就可以接近官方規格的數據

AS SSD Benchmark在Seq Write測試項目應該與CrystalDiskMark類似
Compression Benchmark寫入是由280多MB/s開始往上提升,最後超過480MB/s的效能
SandForce在Sequential Write使用特殊的演算方式,這也是SandForce控制晶片在效能上較弱的部分
在連續或隨機讀取、4K效能與連續寫入是SF-2281控制晶片較為拿手的強項

以GS使用SandForce控制晶片來說,IOMETER 2008在Random Read / Write 4KB測試表現很好
1分鐘與3分鐘都沒有明顯速度衰退的痕跡,些微增加或減少都可視為誤差值

ATTO DISK Benchmark是一款可以測試SSD最佳讀寫效能的軟體,測試所需時間也不長
此處得到的最大數據幾乎是2倍的表現,可以讓Raid 0模式達到最高效能的發揮

此軟體在效能方面也增加約48%左右
windwithme以往分享SSD Raid 0測試時曾提到幾次
當時Intel Rapid Storage Technology還不支援Raid 0 Trim功能,使用一段時間會有降速的狀況
不過前幾個月推出的Storage Technology Drive 11.5版已經正式支援Raid 0 Trim功能
這對喜好追求速度的使用者來說是一個很好的消息,放心將SSD設定為Raid 0模式讓速度可以倍增
也進一步讓SSD未來在效能提升與應用層面都有很大的幫助

SandForce SF-2281控制晶片推出至今大約也有一年半以上
從一開始定位在高階SATA3 SSD,到現在市場大量普及後,幾乎有八成SSD品牌都使用此控制器
價格也慢慢接近SATA3 SSD入門版本,當然會依每個品牌服務與保固時間長短會有價格上的不同
普及與價位是SandForce架構的優勢,劣勢是隨機寫入會由起速200多MB/s慢慢加到500 MB/s
此回CORSAIR Force GS搭載不同製程的NAND Flash,在某些部份效能上有些許提升
對於Max Random 4k Write (IOMeter 08)超過90k IOPS (4k aligned)應是最主要的差異
